the Pastor
There is a renewed excitement here at 1st UMC
of Barrington, with many opportunities to serve God and this
community. One of the most exciting things the Holy Spirit has
blessed us with these past two years, is a significant growth in
our congregation, and most especially young families with young
people. (see comparison pictures).
1st
UMC of Barrington is a fellowship of people who are seeking to
live for God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. We
have young families as well as middle aged and older adults.
We offer a brand new nursery, as well as a new Young Peoples
Church Service, (during the regular service) a Weekly Prayer
Service, and we are currently developing a Youth Group.
If you do not have a church family in which you are
active and you are looking for a church, we would like to invite
you to join us 1st UMC of Barrington. We believe you
will find a friendly welcome here and spiritual nurture for your
soul. We seek to know the Lord in our daily lives and to make
Him known to all we meet.
1st UMC of Barrington is a family-oriented,
evangelical, Bible-believing church that preaches the Good News
of salvation in Jesus Christ. We believe that the transforming
power of faith in Jesus continues to change lives, giving us
meaning and purpose. As people search for spiritual truth, the
timeless power and truth of the Bible & the Lord Jesus; it
continues to proclaim to be the answer for life's questions.
We are a spiritual community united in our belief that we
must humbly seek daily the blessing and guidance of the Holy
Spirit, and as we continue to experience this extraordinary
growth, our hope and goal is to be able to offer something for
every age group to help all people come to know God personally
and walk with Him through faith in Jesus Christ. We'd love to
have you come and learn with us.
We have a number of activities going on here at 1st
UMC of Barrington that includes; a Free Movie Night once a
month, plans for a Family Game Night (check our website often
for details), a Ham and Cabbage Dinner, Our Annual Hobo Beef
Stew Dinner, and much more.
